RockNob Press Summary

What is a RockNob?

A RockNob is a gearshift knob made from natural river rock found in the mountains and deserts of the west. Each rock is carefully chosen so that it comfortably fits in the palm of your hand. Carved into every RockNob is a unique lizard petroglyph, found only on an authentic RockNob. The natural beauty of the rocks are brought out with a simple satin finish that holds up well to UV light. Product Details

We custom fit the steel threads in each RockNob to the vehicle they are destined to spend the next 5000 years or so in. There are two sizes of RockNob, regular and large, and three different types of rock.

Timpanogos RockNob - Timpanogos RockNobs are made from rocks found on the ancient shoreline of Lake Bonneville. The shoreline runs along the western face of Mount Timpanogos overlooking Utah Valley. Timpanogos RockNobs vary in appearance because of the many types of rock that come from nearby canyons. Timpanogos RockNobs are by far the most interesting and beautiful RockNobs.

Colorado RockNob - Colorado Rocknobs come from a quarry in Arizona where long ago the mighty Colorado River flowed. The rocks are beautiful in color and variety raging in hues from the deepest earth red to dark green. To make it all the way to Arizona in their journey of millions of years down the river from the Rocky Mountains, these rocks had to be very hard. And as a result they are nicely smoothed and feel great in the palm of your hand. Our lizard petroglyph is the most "at home" on a Colorado RockNob, you can almost feel the sun.

Company Background/History

The company was started in mid 1999 and started officially selling RockNobs early in 2000. Our secure web site (www.rocknob.com) came on-line in February 2000. RockNob is headquartered in Orem, Utah, right in the middle of the beautiful Wasatch mountain range, within easy reach of the various terrain's that provide perfect RockNob "hunting grounds".

As a bit of history on why we started the company, check out the following account from the owner:

"While hiking in a local canyon, I often look for good hand-hold rocks that a friend of mine mounts on his climbing wall. I was on one of these hikes when I found a river-rounded piece of green shale that felt perfect in my hand. I figured if someone could mount real rocks to their climbing wall, I could put one on my stick shift. That is how the first RockNob was born. After having it mounted on my Cruiser's stick for about 2 years someone said to me, "That is such a cool thing…you should sell those!" I thought, "You know, I should."

The rest is history. We now offer two different looks, Timpanogos, and Colorado RockNobs. All are certified as 100% real ROCK and are guaranteed to please or your money back!
